Discom writes to IMC to prune trees planted by civic body

He added that the department has also been told to prune branches of trees that were planted by the civic body.The move comes after the civic body started to seize vehicles of MPPKVVCL staff members for leaving branches on the road after trees were pruned. The discom workers cut tree branches so that they wouldn't affect overhead electricity lines. IMC tried to reprimand discom staff members by seizing their vehicles and fining them for leaving wigs on city streets.Discom officials said IMC's interference affected their work, especially cutting tree branches. "We even had to hire private workers to do the job, which in turn has become an extra burden on the discom," they added.

Indore: MPPKVVCL officials have written to Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) asking them to manage pruning work in areas where it planted trees "We have written to officials of IMC's urban administration department to fix the responsibility of pruning of trees to concerned personnel who plant them," said Subroto Rai, The discom's superintending engineer. He added that the department has also been told to prune branches of trees that were planted by the civic body.The move comes after the civic body started to seize vehicles of MPPKVVCL staff members for leaving branches on the road after trees were pruned. "We even had to hire private workers to do the job, which in turn has become an extra burden on the discom," they added.
