"Ease of doing business will facilitate investors and companies in obtaining forest clearance and other formalities in a time-bound manner from a single window. ITANAGAR: In a bid to extend a single window system to investors or companies willing to open new small or medium size industries in the state, deputy chief minister Chowna Mein has asked the departments of planning & investment and industries to speed up the process of 'ease of doing business'. "A single window system would facilitate getting forest clearance and obtaining other formalities in a time-bound manner without hassles," Mein said, calling for making it functional as early as possible.Mein said many investors and companies are willing to invest and set up new factories in the state but are not because of the time taken and effort invested in formalities. Once it is functional, it will open a new gate for prospective and existing business communities in the state," said the deputy CM.Mein added that if industries come up within the state, it would also provide employment opportunities to educated youths and will drive forward the state's vision of prosperity for all.Mein also discussed the new draft industrial policy of the state and asked the department of industries to align it with the new northeast industrial and investment policy before putting it up for vetting and approval by the state cabinet. The issues were taken up by Mein in a meeting with finance secretary YW Ringu , planning & investment secretary Joram Beda , industries director Taru Talo and planning director (monitoring & evaluation) Mokir Eshi Ori at his civil secretariat office here on Thursday.
