ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh on Monday got its 24th district, Lepa Rada, carved out of the Lower Siang district and comprising four administrative circles - Tirbin, Dari, Sago and Basar. The last will be its headquarters.A day ago, the Shi Yoma district was inaugurated. "A survey is already on for railway connectivity to Aalo," Khandu said adding, due to technical reasons; fixed winged aircrafts are unable to land at the Aalo advanced landing ground.Khandu added that a new land would be identified for construction of a new airport wherever feasible in nearby area. He also assured that for immediate functioning of the new headquarters whatever initial funding is required would be fulfilled.The chief minister said the government is working to improve connectivity in the Basar and Aalo area to exploit the huge potential it offers in horticulture and agriculture. He said it was on this day in 2008 that former CM Dorjee Khandu had promised to fulfil the wishes of Lepa Rada citizens.The chief minister also read out the vision statement and urged the people to stand by it.The chief minister promised that for creation of infrastructure for development of new district headquarters, funds provision would be placed in the coming budget session.
