Arunachal Governor BD Mishra Urges Cops to Ensure Self discipline

Our CorrespondentItanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Friday called upon police personnel to ensure self discipline, physical fitness, mental alertness, perceptive mind, honesty, sacrifice, hard work and respect of law. He said that the officers and personnel must voluntarily accept posting in any place, whether it is soft, tough or operational. The Governor emphasised on recruitment on merit, proper training and providing exemplary leadership by every senior police officer, starting from head constable to Director-General. Dr Mishra called for cooperation amongst the Army, paramilitary forces and civil police for security of the country. Our Correspondent Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Friday called upon police personnel to ensure self discipline, physical fitness, mental alertness, perceptive mind, honesty, sacrifice, hard work and respect of law. Attending the 47th Raising Day of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) at Police Training Centre (PTC) Banderdewa, near here, Mishra in his address said that the common men have high expectations from the police force and so they must rise to the occasion. He said that the officers and personnel must voluntarily accept posting in any place, whether it is soft, tough or operational. “They must take it as their obligation to duty,” he said. The Governor emphasised on recruitment on merit, proper training and providing exemplary leadership by every senior police officer, starting from head constable to Director-General. He said that State Government would continue its steps for welfare of the personnel and infrastructure for the organization. Dr Mishra called for cooperation amongst the Army, paramilitary forces and civil police for security of the country. Sharing his experiences in security management, the Governor advised the officers and personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Police to be proactive and know the people under their jurisdiction, keep their eyes and ears open and mouth shut, ensure impartial and proper investigation, cultivate confidence amongst the people about the police and policing and help every individual in need, across the board without any discrimination. Sharing his concern about drug addiction among the youth, the governor emphasised on zero tolerance towards drug abuse. He advised the police force to take up special drive against the social menace. Earlier in the day, the Governor inspected the parade and took salute of the marching contingents. He commended the PTC Brass Band for their excellent display and the marching contingents for their turn out, smartness and parade. BD Mishra also presented Indian Police Medal to DIGP (Headquarter) Kime Kaming, Jeevan Raksha Padak Medal to Inspector Padi Paying and Inspector Abraham Taying and Union Home Ministers Medal for excellence in Police Training to Head Constable Talin Motu and Constable Tsering Tashi. State Home Minister Bamang Felix, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, DGP RP Upadhyay were among others who attended the programme.
