Arunachal Indigenous Students union AISU calls dawn to dusk capital Bandh

Our CorrespondentItanagar: The Arunachal Indigenous Students union (AISU) on Friday announced dawn-to-dusk capital bandh on January 28 in protest against non-fulfillment of its charter of demands placed before the government earlier. “We request the State Government to deport all the refugees settled in the state to some other locations to protect the state's indigenous people from the onslaught of alien culture and influx,” Talik said. On the introduction of history of Arunachal in the secondary level textbooks, Talik said that the chapters focusing exclusively on state diverse tribal history and geography in textbooks would help secondary level students to learn and understand more about their home state, its culture and traditions. The AISU also demanded the state government to resume chopper service to remote areas of the state which was put on halt after some time of introduction for no reason. Our Correspondent Itanagar: The Arunachal Indigenous Students union (AISU) on Friday announced dawn-to-dusk capital bandh on January 28 in protest against non-fulfillment of its charter of demands placed before the government earlier. Addressing media person at Arunachal Press Club (APC) here, AISU President Techi Talik said that the union want a clear-cut statement on the Chakma-Hajong refugee issue but they are still confused on the stand of the central and state government after enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act. “We request the State Government to deport all the refugees settled in the state to some other locations to protect the states indigenous people from the onslaught of alien culture and influx,” Talik said. On the introduction of history of Arunachal in the secondary level textbooks, Talik said that the chapters focusing exclusively on state diverse tribal history and geography in textbooks would help secondary level students to learn and understand more about their home state, its culture and traditions. He also called for a complete ban on the sale of liquor and demanded the state government to issue necessary order to close all liquor shops on the highway as a precautionary measure to contain alcohol-related menace in the State capital. The AISU also demanded the state government to resume chopper service to remote areas of the state which was put on halt after some time of introduction for no reason. Earlier, the AISU demanded the state government for deportation of Chakma-Hajong refugees from the state, Complete ban on the sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 3 per cent job reservation quota for artist in government job, inclusion of History of Arunachal in the textbook of Class VIII to IX, shifting of the educational institutions from highway to proper place, renaming of RGU to Arunachal University and Indira Gandhi Park to Abotani Park, installation of Biometric system in all government schools besides, erection of street lights in the State capital.
