CRPF distributes solar lanterns to Villagers in Tirap district

The 36 Bn CRPF with an intention to provide alternative source of electricity, distributed solar lantern to inhabitants of Laho (Dadam area), a distant village in Tirap district on Tuesday. The solar lights were provided to poor and needy villagers of the area under Civic Action program, a press release informed here. The CRPF chosen these two villages for their civic action program and distributed LED solar lanterns to the needy people which resulted in beams of smile on the faces of the beneficiaries. It is worth mentioning that CRPF has been carrying out such civic action programs in many outreach villages under Tirap and Longding districts of the state to strengthen relations between civilian and CRPF, the release added.

Battalion Commandant SR Behura, second in command Anil Kishor Yadav, deputy commandant M S Yadav, Chief of Laho Rawang Lowang along with the second chief Lewang Kamhoa and others were present on the occasion. Acute shortage of power supply, interruption of electricity was the major problem faced by the villagers especially the students, who suffers a lot in their studies. The CRPF chosen these two villages for their civic action program and distributed LED solar lanterns to the needy people which resulted in beams of smile on the faces of the beneficiaries. The villagers and the chiefs of Laho and Huakan villages thanked the commandant and appreciated the CRPF for their tremendous job been rendered to poor and needy people living in such remote region and they have requested that such type of facilities may also be provided in future. It is worth mentioning that CRPF has been carrying out such civic action programs in many outreach villages under Tirap and Longding districts of the state to strengthen relations between civilian and CRPF, the release added.
