ACB conducts search at cop’s residence in Ajmer

Ajmer: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday conducted a search at the residence of police inspector Arpan Choudhary in connection with a case registered in Kota.Currently, he is posted as SHO in Karauli. However, the team declined to divulge anything about the operation.Sharma said, the search is going on and he can’t conclude anything at this time. Kishanlal Kumawat, posted at Nagar Palika in Kuchaman, had demanded bribe from complainant Chhote Ram for presenting a favourable report in the court in a case, SP (Anti-Corruption Bureau) Kailash Bishnoi said. "The accused was arrested from his office while accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe, the SP said, adding a case was registered against him and further investigation is on. The ACB is making search in a matter of involvement of officials in illegal mining racket in the region of Dholpur, Bharatpur and Kota.A team of ACB led by additional SP C P Sharma reached early morning at the resident of Choudhary at Logagal Road and started search operation.

The ACB is making search in a matter of involvement of officials in illegal mining racket in the region of Dholpur, Bharatpur and Kota.A team of ACB led by additional SP C P Sharma reached early morning at the resident of Choudhary at Logagal Road and started search operation. However, the team declined to divulge anything about the operation.Sharma said, the search is going on and he can’t conclude anything at this time. If needed, the team will open the lockers in the name of the family member of Arpan.Sources said that the team got 20 bottles of foreign liquor but the exercise department was not called for registering a case of illegal possession of foreign wine but officials sources said that they will first show the seized bottles and later it will decide that whether the case will be registered with local police or with exercise department.Meanwhile, Sharma said that he does not know why the search has been operated but the department got the search warrant from Kota office. Later in evening, unofficial sources said that the search that remain for more than 24 hours are now counting some 700 grams gold and Rs 7.50 lakh.Arpan belonged to a very prominent family of Jats and he was not at home. Sources said that officials has also not cleared why this search was conducted but it was counted that ACB is working on the corruption of illegal mining racket.BoxOfficer held for taking bribeJaipur: An executive officer posted in Rajasthan's Nagaur district was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh.
