JAIPUR: The state election office has started preparations for the assembly polls scheduled by the year end.According to the office of chief electoral officer in Rajasthan , the first-level checking of the EVMs and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) would begin at the district level from June 18.Deputy chief electoral officer Vinod Pareek, while addressing the officials involved in the election process by video conferencing, said that the control units and ballot units at the EVM warehouses would undergo first-level checking by the engineers of the Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), Bengaluru from June 18 and would be completed by July 31.In the first phase, the FLC would be held at Ajmer, Bikaner , Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Jodhpur and Udaipur.He also directed the officials to ensure that the representatives of the political parties be present during the process of FLC.He also directed the officials to ensure sufficient security to the warehouse where EVMs are stored after checking. It was also directed that the officials be alert and the incidents of EVMs non-functional during the election be reduced to the minimum.He said, 14 state master trainers have been deputed to give training to the officials on EVMs and would soon visit district to import training at the district level. A presentation was also given on the maintenance of the EVMs, function check, mock poll, data update, symbol loading etc.
