Jaipur: A 28-year-old police constable was found hanging inside his police quarter near Darbar School under the limits of Jalupura police station area of the city on Thursday afternoon.According to Jalupura SHO Likhma Ram, constable Vishnu made a rope from a cloth and hanged himself from the ceiling fan.A native of Bharatpur, Vishnu had been living in Jaipur from 2008. No suicide note was recovered from his room, but the body has been kept at the mortuary of a hospital.“The reason of suicide could not be ascertained yet. We are investigating the matter to find out why he took the extreme step,” Likhma Ram said.The constable’s wife and children were at his native town in Bharatpur. The matter came to light when his neighbors found Vishnu hanging in his room.“Several calls were made to him, but he did not pick up. He was to attend a municipal corporation related duty on Thursday evening,” Likhma Ram said.Jaipur police searched for his room but could not find any letter. Senior officials said that his death will be investigated. “A post-mortem will be conducted once his family arrives in the city. He was a native of Bharatpur. Her family had gone to Bharatpur recently for summer vacation,” an official said.A team from Jalupura police station arrived at his room and took him to the hospital. He was declared brought dead by doctors. "We will speak to her family members. We cannot confirm if he was under some kind of stress due to personal or professional reasons," the official said.
