Jodhpur: While the police headquarters is desperately working out measures to stop copying in the constable recruitment examination and has been after a notorious copying-gang leader Jagdish Bishnoi, Jodhpur police, on Wednesday hit the bulls eye by busting a gang all set to rig the constable recruitment examination. Police have arrested 11 persons including Bishnoi’s brother Jagdish Jyani.Jyani and three others including Arun Panwar and Suresh Bishnoi had been operating the racket and are associated with a coaching class at Jalori Gate by the name of Anupam Classes.Other arrested include Ramesh Prajapat, a photo editor and prospective beneficiaries, who had approached Jyani and submitted payment to him ranging from Rs. 7 to 5 lakh. Two of them have been caught red-handed while making the payment to Jyani.Police have also seized cash worth Rs. 409500, blank cheques, account slips, edited photographs of the applicants, stamp papers, computer, phones and other electronic equipment.Describing the modus operandi of the gang, the IGP (Jodhpur range) Hawa Singh Ghumaria said that they would make a talented student sit in the examination in place of the actual applicant or their client as a dummy candidate.“For this, they would morph the photo of the applicant so as to look identical to the dummy candidate sitting in the examination in lieu of the actual candidate,” said Ghumaria adding that such morphed photographs were to be pasted on the admit card of the candidate.Ghumaria said that Jyani would charge money in installments like Rs. 2 lakh in advance, Rs. 2 lakh on admit card and remaining Rs. 1-3 lakh during the examination.SP (Jodhpur rural) Rajan Dushyant said that the gang operator Jyani would not talk about deals in his office at the coaching center and would meet the clients (candidates) at different places so as to avoid the police. He also had some code words for running the racket.“He would use words like ‘on-sheet’, which meant someone else would sit in exam in lieu of the actual applicant and ‘DTH’ meant Direct to Home, which meant that the candidate need not sit in examination,” Dushyant said.In order to keep the situation highly probable for himself, he would make the candidates fill the forms from different places ranging from 5 to 12, so that he could get the dummy sit for examination where the situation is suitable for him.Dushyant said that he had about two dozen such selected ‘talented’ candidates, who he had planned to replace with the client candidates but only after making sure that the faces of his clients have resemblance to those of ‘talented’ group.“He would not entertain the cases, where resemblance among the client candidates and ‘talented’ group was an issue,” said Dushyant.Besides those arrested, police have eight more names who had settled the deal with Jyani and 50 others who have been approached by the gang for the deal.
