No ration to BPL for two days as internet banned in Ajmer

Ajmer: Hundreds of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families remained empty handed on Sunday to get ration grains just because internet services were blocked from morning till evening. Even those who trusted to swipe cards on petrol pumps faced problems as swipe machines were not working. But sources said this system will soon be adopted by different recruitment agencies which will create problem for market and common man. “My whole day was wasted and the shopkeeper asked me to come the next day,” said Ramlal.Even students who wanted to fill different forms from internet shops faced difficulty, “If police is unable to manage the paper leak then they should not perform such tests. People said that they have to move urgent and cannot get e-ticket for travelling.

There were petrol pumps and shops where owners put up boards that they only accept cash.Ramlal Khateek of Kalyanipura took a day leave to get ration grains of a month on Sunday but he was denied as the swipe machine under food distribution and security program was not working. “My whole day was wasted and the shopkeeper asked me to come the next day,” said Ramlal.Even students who wanted to fill different forms from internet shops faced difficulty, “If police is unable to manage the paper leak then they should not perform such tests. They failed to curb cheating and paper leak and therefore they closed essential service of internet,” said Mahesh Chouhan who had to fill a form for college in Maharashtra.Even e-mitra remained closed and no water and electricity bills were deposited in last two days, “For two days I am going to e-mitra but they denied to accept the bill as there is no internet service,” said Prem Kaswani of Ajya Nagar.Not only this, but long queue was seen on railway station and bus stand to get a ticket for their journey. People said that they have to move urgent and cannot get e-ticket for travelling. “Internet is an essential facility because people are now dependent on it and therefore police cannot ban this service for long ten hours in a day,” said a retired engineer.Mostly foreign tourists that came to Pushkar faced problems as no hotel owner could swipe their cards, “Central government is educating for online transaction and police is forcing back to cash,” commented a hotel owner.Even business of wholesale deals online suffered as they order their goods on internet but for Saturday and Sunday there was no business, especially in the jewellery market, “People cannot carry cash to buy diamonds, they pay by card but in last two days we have earned not a single rupee,” said a shop owner in Naya Bazaar.Meanwhile, police is happy to announce that constable recruitment examination of two days went peacefully and no case of cheating and copying or paper leak is reported. But sources said this system will soon be adopted by different recruitment agencies which will create problem for market and common man.
