Jaipur: The two-day siege of the mobile services ended as Rajasthan police constable examination came to a close on Sunday evening.Additional DGP (headquarters) Rajeev Sharma said that that over 7 lakh candidates appeared in the examination on Sunday, adding that some people tried to write exams on behalf of others but were nabbed.“The written examinations were conducted without any major problems. Some impersonators and cheaters were arrested. But the entire process went without any hiccup,” Sharma told TOI, adding that all answersheets will be brought to the city for checking.Mobile internet services remained blocked till 5 pm across Jodhpur, Jaipur and Udaipur. The examination, held in two shifts at 664 centres spread across 78 cities was the biggest ever police recruitment in recent times.DGP OP Galhotra released a press statement on Sunday evening where he said that inconvenience caused is regretted and thanked policemen who helped in arrangements.The examination results are likely to be declared in the second week of August. I had worn a full sleeve shirt for the exam, and was asked by the police to remove it at the gate. There was inconvenience but I am happy by the fact that the examination was rigging-free and our hard work will pay off,” said Sudeep Detha.The police in Barmer, Jodhpur, Kota, Jaipur, Nagaur, Dausa and other cities also nabbed many suspects said to be involved in cheating.
