Spl immunisation drive in five dists from July 16

Health department immunise children against diseases such as Diphtheria, Pertusis, Tetanus and Hepatitis B.Besides, the health department officials are preparing name-based due lists for tracking and mobilization of under-2 children. In this regard, a special drive of vaccination will be launched in the selected five districts from July 16. Health department officials claimed that full immunization coverage in the state is 80%. Through these samities, the health department will create awareness in the rural areas for improving full immunization coverage of the children. The sectary of the samiti will be Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker.

Jaipur: Five aspirational districts selected by NITI Aayog in the state will witness special immunization drive for under-2 years of age children who were left out from being immunized during National immunization day or they were partially immunized from July 16.Among 115 aspirational districts of the country selected by the Centre, there are five districts which belong to the state like Baran, Jaisalmer, Sirohi, Dholpur and Karauli.On the visit of Jhunjhunu in March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met collectors of all five aspirational districts.Rajasthan has set a target to improve its immunisation coverage to 90% by December end. Health department officials claimed that full immunization coverage in the state is 80%. It has already conducted head counts of children across the state of children who are fully immunised, partially immunized or not at all immunised against any disease.A health department official said that according to NITI Aayog theses districts need development. In this regard, a special drive of vaccination will be launched in the selected five districts from July 16. The officials are getting ready for launching immunization drive by holding meeting and ensuring availability of vaccines in Baran, Jaisalmer, Sirohi, Dholpur and Karauli.These five districts of the state have been identified by NITI Aayog improvement in the level of education, health, nutrition basic infrastructure like rural road connectivity, rural household electrification, access to potable water and individual toilets.National Health Mission (NHM) mission director (state) Naveen Jain said, one of the major reasons of people do not get their children vaccinated is lack of awareness.In the rural areas, Gram Swasthya Swachhta Payjal Awan Poshan Samities have been constituted.
