Another jawan martyred in Chhattisgarh, 4th in a week

JAIPUR: One more soldier from Rajasthan was martyred on Sunday which is fourth death within a week.Twenty four-year-old Lokendra Singh Shekhawat, a soldier with Border Security Force (BSF), was killed during Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh . A large number of villagers gathered at the Lokendra’s house. Shekhawat hailed from Nathusar village near Srimadhopur in Sikar district.His family was into mundan (head shaving) rituals of Lokendra’s eight-month-old son Rudra Pratap Singh Shekhawat when they were informed about the demise of his father. The whole programme was cancelled and people especially women were in tears.Shekhawat had joined BSF as a sepoy in 2012 and was posted at Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. “He got married on November 2015 with Asha Kanwar and was a very jovial person.

He used to enquire about the health of elders in the village,” said a friend of the martyr He is survived by mother Kailash Kanwar, father Mahendra Singh, elder brother Kuldeep Singh and wife Asha Kanwar. Shekhawat along with other CRPF men were returning from patrolling when they were attacked. His mortal remains are expected to reach the native village on Monday when a large number of villagers are expected to participate in the wreath laying ceremony of the martyr.Mukut Bihari Meena, a para commando from Jhalawar was killed on Wednesday, while Mishrilal of Tonk and Sandeep Yadav of Bansur were killed on Thursday. All the three were killed in terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
