Met sounds alert for heavy rain in Rajasthan

Heavy water logging was witnessed at the Akbarpur area having a Hanuman Temple.Similarly heavy rainfall was witnessed in Jaisalmer and Barmer districts of the state. Many places in the western Rajasthan including Barmer and Jaisalmer also received a rainfall varying from 30 mm to 10 mm. Waterlogging at many localities was a common scene and commuters especially bikers had a tough time on the city roads. A rainfall of 44.6 mm was recorded in the city till the evening.At Alwar smaller to bigger river were overflowing due to the heavy rainfall that started late on Sunday evening. Waterlogging at many localities was a common scene and commuters especially bikers had a tough time on the city roads. Monsoon rainfall has already taken the toll of two persons, including one in Alwar and one in Kota.Cars wade through a waterlogged street in the city on MondayOne 28-year-old person swept away in a rain-fed river at Naugavan area in the Alwar district on Monday amidst heavy rainfall. Likewise, a 55-yearold was killed after being struck by lightning at Nimoada village in Kota.Many places in Jaipur got moderate to heavy showers which brought heavy water logging on the streets including Vaishali Nagar, Sikar Road, Jhotwara, Harmada Sodala, Bajaj Nagar and other localities. Bikers had a tough time while riding the bike as water logging was rampant on the streets. Low lying areas in the city were badly water logged. There is also information that some cattle had swept away due to heavy flow of water.Mavli(Udaipur) received a rainfall of 110 mm which was highest in the state and was followed by Kherwada(Udaipur) and Nayanagar(Ajmer) 70 mm each, Bahadurpur (Alwar), Badesar ( Chittorgarh ), Jalore (Jalore) Devel (Dungarpur), Bhopalsagar (Chittorgarh) 60 mm each. Many places in the western Rajasthan including Barmer and Jaisalmer also received a rainfall varying from 30 mm to 10 mm.
