JAIPUR: The presence of the doctor is the beginning of the cure, someone has said. For the fraternity, who are the main pillar of any healthy society, the Times of India is organising 'Icons of Health 2018' on Tuesday, an occasion to felicitate them for their unparalleled contribution to the healthcare sector.Over 200 doctors of the state, who have carved out a niche for themselves with their research, innovation and dedication, keeping the interests of the patients in mind, will gather in the city to take part in the event. Health minister Kalicharan Saraf will be the chief guest of the evening and felicitate them. The event is organised as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Times of India.Determination and hard work of doctors have brought healthcare facilities in the state to a new high attracting patients from neighbouring states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.Without being worried of getting exposed to hazardous radiation, or undaunted by the risk of getting infected with highly contagious diseases such as swine flu, doctors often have to walk the extra mile to provide a better solution to patients. Complicated heart surgeries, treatment for neurological disorders, organ and bone marrow transplants, knee transplants, cancer treatment and diseases of gastroenterology have given Rajasthan a new identity in the healthcare map of India.This is the 4th event organised by the Times of India in the series after the successful completion of 'The Wedding Times Fashion Fiesta (May)' and a 'Tribute to Indian Army Jaipur (June) and Jodhpur (July) to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Rajasthan.
