Jaisalmer: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her husband over a petty dispute, in Nachana area in Jaisalmer district on Monday night. The girl, who was a child bride, had come to stay with her in-laws around six months ago, after attaining the age of 19.Police have recovered the body and have sent it to the mortuary for conducting postmortem on Tuesday. SP Gaurav Yadav said that the deceased Damati (19) had a child marriage to Hajariram, at Shekhpura village and came to her in-laws’ place six months ago. On Monday night, she had a dispute with her husband over some petty issue, over which her husband allegedly murdered her by strangulating her.Nachna Dy SP Himanshu Gaur said Hajariram Audh (21) resident of Shekhpura village, had a dispute with his wife on Monday night and later under the influence of liquor, he murdered his wife. She was brought to Nachna hospital where the doctors declared her dead. The doctors informed the police, who then started the investigation and arrested the husband.Prima facie, it was found that on Monday 6pm, Damati had come to her in-laws’ from her parents’ place in Jaisalmer. The husband and wife had a fight later that night around 1-2am.Damati’s brother has lodged complaint of dowry murder against Hajariram, father-in -law Bistaram, mother-in-law Kekudevia, brother-in-law Madan and sister-in-law.In the initial inquiry, Hajariram has accepted that there was a fight between them and when his wife abused him, he strangulated her. He also confessed to have been under the influence of liquor. After the incident, he took the body to the hospital in a taxi. Police had informed the family members of the deceased who then reached the village on Monday evening and lodged a case against Hajariram for murdering Damati.
