Heavy rains in Ajmer div 2 girls among 3 drown

Ajmer: Monsoon arrived in full swing in Ajmer division on Tuesday and Ajmer, Bhilwara and parts of Nagaur received heavy rains. The passers-by informed the police who then brought out the body and sent it for postmortem.Ajmer received heavy rains for an hour in the afternoon, after prolonged humid weather. Heavy rains also lashed Bhilwara on Tuesday morning.With a good rainfall in the region, Bisalpur is expected to be replenished in the coming few days. “If the rains continue, then Bisalpur Dam can receive a good amount of water in a few days,” said an official.Rains in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer are the main source of water for Bisalpur dam and Chittorgarh has received a warning from Meteorological department for heavy rains in coming two days. When one of the girls slipped and fell into the water, the other one came to help but ended up falling in the pit as well.

Two girls drowned to death in Kesarpura village near Ramsar and one man died due to drowning in a lake in Nagaur district.According to the police, the two girls - Raina (daughter of Arjun) and Hanti (daughter of Dhanna), residents of Kesarpura village in Ajmer, had gone to graze their cattle, when they drowned in a pit full of water. When one of the girls slipped and fell into the water, the other one came to help but ended up falling in the pit as well. Nasirabad police have sent the body to a government hospital for postmortem.In Parbatsar of Nagaur, on Tuesday morning, a man who had gone to bathe in Chapolai lake, drowned to death. The passers-by informed the police who then brought out the body and sent it for postmortem.Ajmer received heavy rains for an hour in the afternoon, after prolonged humid weather. While the rains gave relief from the heat, roads were waterlogged. Heavy rains also lashed Bhilwara on Tuesday morning.With a good rainfall in the region, Bisalpur is expected to be replenished in the coming few days. PHED Officials are hopeful that continuous heavy rainfall in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer in the next few days, will fill up the Bisalpur dam.Bisalpur dam has a capacity of 313 meters and Triveni is the centre where water collects from Bisalpur and Khari Rivers which flow towards the dam. “If the rains continue, then Bisalpur Dam can receive a good amount of water in a few days,” said an official.Rains in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer are the main source of water for Bisalpur dam and Chittorgarh has received a warning from Meteorological department for heavy rains in coming two days.
