Illegal mining: Sand mafia attempts to run over cop in Dholpur, Rajasthan Source: TNN After firing at police personnel four days back, sand mafia has yet again launched a brazen attack on cops in Dholpur, Rajasthan. This time the sand mafia tried to run over a cop with tractor at a check post in Dholpur. The incident took place when the cop tried to stop four tractors loaded with sand. The cop somehow managed to escape the brutal attack and was rescued by the locals present around the area. The policeman was later rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. An FIR has been lodged by the police against sand mafia and investigations are underway into the matter. Clashes between police and sand mafia are frequent due to rampant illegal mining in Dholpur of Rajasthan. Merely four days back sand mafia open fire at the cops after the police team tried to stop them at the check post.
