JAIPUR: BJP president Amit Shah has donned the cap of a social media guru during his address to the party leaders and the IT cell of state BJP on Saturday.Explaining the importance of social media, Shah shared tips on ways to create creative and informative content for social media. He clarified that BJP social media workers are driver by love for the nation is a reason that they don’t charge anything. He said, “The first step is to collect data of all social welfare schemes at state and district level. Their role was not restricted to only sharing the information but also to counter misinformation spread through the media. BJP won in 163 seats in the Vidhan Sabha polls in 2013 out of 200 seats.

He said, “The first step is to collect data of all social welfare schemes at state and district level. The second step is to compare the data with the previous government. The final step is to create a readable content which is appealing to the readers.” The programme was held at Raj Mandir Cinema.Shah schooled cyber cell workers from across the state for 40 minutes on the role they can play in the state assembly polls due this year. Defining the role to the social media workers, Shah recalled how cyber Yodhas (fighters) shaped the victory of BJP in the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh He said, “Our cyber fighters created 15-17 lakh Whatsapp groups to share and spread our mission in the state. Their role was not restricted to only sharing the information but also to counter misinformation spread through the media. They spot the incorrect information and spread the correct information before the people.”Instilling confidence among the workers, Shah said that both state and Central government has done nothing wrong and they (social media volunteers) without any hesitation share the information to mobilise voters. His speech received rapt attention from the audience, many of them were taking notes from his shared tips. He clarified that BJP social media workers are driver by love for the nation is a reason that they don’t charge anything. “Congress has outsourced its social media campaign,” said Shah.Earlier in the day at Totuka Bhawan while addressing the BJP’s State Working Committee (SWC) concluding session, Shah asked the party leaders to target more assembly seats in the upcoming polls than in 2013. BJP won in 163 seats in the Vidhan Sabha polls in 2013 out of 200 seats.
