Jaipur: Almost 12 hours after a businessman was kidnapped from Murlipura area in the city the police have successfully rescued him on Sunday morning from the isolated jungle area near Bayana in Bharatpur district of the state. Police have also discovered that victim was kidnapped by his business partner who is on the run and it was an outcome of a dispute of Rs 10 lakh. However, the kidnappers were at large as they managed to flee by the time Jaipur police team reached.According to the police, Kamlesh Sharma, a native of Basan Fatehpur near Samod left his home after a phone call. When he did not reach home the relatives first informed the Murlipura police station. “Initially it appeared to be normal missing report. However, when the accused identified as Rajesh Gujjar asked the family to pay back his Rs 10 lakh which the accused claimed victim had taken from him, the family informed us,” said Ashok Gupta, deputy commissioner of police (West) while talking to TOI.Police without wasting time started technical surveillance of various suspicious telephone numbers that came to their notice. “Our team started chasing the kidnappers as it was found that Kamlesh was called up by Rajesh on Saturday after which he left home. The family said that the accused Rajesh has been threatening and intimidating Kamlesh for a long time. Some years ago, both were business partners in a lubricant business,” Gupta added.After a continued chase the police successfully spotted a vehicle which they believed was carrying the kidnapped businessman. “He (Kamlesh) was rescued on Sunday. We have also recovered the vehicle in which he was carried, however the kidnappers managed to flee from the scene,” said Gupta.Police have already registered a case of kidnap against the accused and four of his accomplices. “It is a clear case of kidnapping for ransom. The accused is clearly identified and would be arrested soon. He is on the run, but is on our radar,” said a senior police officer.
