JAIPUR: The Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors ( JARD ) is threatening to go on strike , if their demands are not fulfilled. JARD claimed that the post-graduation seats have almost doubled in the recent past, but accommodation facilities for resident doctors remain the same. One year for senior residentship will help more doctors becoming eligible for getting recruitment in new medical colleges on the post of assistant professor. They also pointed out that the government should also implement the points of agreement signed between them on December 27.The resident doctors also complained that they do not have sufficient space in hostels. They are demanding that the duration of senior residentship should not be more than one year.JARD pointed out that five new medical colleges have started functioning from this year.
