Dalit body alleges Katariya involved in dalit harassment cases

Jaipur: Centre for Dalit Rights on Friday, raised allegations on the Rajasthan home minister Gulab Chand Katariya, for being involved in the cases of harassment of dalit people in the state.They were referring to a case in which Katariya’s son-in-law, Arihant Kheencha is involved. Mimroth said, “Katariya being the home minister, has influenced the police, and his son-in-law is roaming freely without paying a poor dalit man’s money. He then refused to pay the remaining money and warned them of consequences if they approached the police. Similarly, in one case of attempt to rape by a school principal on his student in Bharatpur, Katariya tried to influence the investigation. With Arihant being the home minister’s son-in-law, even police authorities allegedly refused to file the complaint.The head of the organisation, P.L.

It has been alleged that Arihant hired a contractor to construct a private school building in Makarna, Naguar. He had to pay the contractor more than Rs 4 lakh, but paid only Rs 70,000 and kept all his original documents. He then refused to pay the remaining money and warned them of consequences if they approached the police. With Arihant being the home minister’s son-in-law, even police authorities allegedly refused to file the complaint.The head of the organisation, P.L. Mimroth said, “Katariya being the home minister, has influenced the police, and his son-in-law is roaming freely without paying a poor dalit man’s money. Similarly, in one case of attempt to rape by a school principal on his student in Bharatpur, Katariya tried to influence the investigation. Even after the case was proved in two investigations earlier, he ordered to get it investigated by some other investigating officer. It was only after the intervention of the court that this was stopped.”He said that Gulab Chand Katariya should resign and an investigation should be made by a third party against all the allegations.
