Jaipur: At a time when the country was celebrating Hindi Diwas on Friday, the Rajasthan Hindi Granth Academy failed to hold any programme to mark the Hindi Diwas celebrations. The body, under the government, said a recent court order has overburdened them and is the reason to skip the celebration this year. Poonam Gupta, of Rajasthan Hindi Granth Academy said the academy is disposing some information on an urgent basis and this was the reason that they had suspended all scheduled programmes, including a major programme in Jodhpur.Koslendra Das, an academician based in Jaipur said, that the failure of academy to hold any programme on Hindi Diwas questions their competence. “Hindi Diwas is primarily observed to promote the Hindi language. It is unfortunate that the body which has a role to promote this language is sitting idle on the main day,” said Das.The academy, headquartered at Jaipur, has confessed that they are not able to find writers to write on its core themes like literature, philosophy, culture, other than the books of academic nature used in colleges and universities. Most of the proposals they are getting are for academic books. Recent books are based on RTE, Tantrik Tantra, importance of fruits, etc.
