After 2009, massive construction, sometimes by companies, made JLN the most sought-after area,” said Rishi Yadav, a resident and property dealer. The police said that the migration of rich families towards the eastern areas from their old ancestral houses in the Walled City and nearby villages like Kukas, also invited the glare of criminals from nearby districts.“These areas are also close to highways, which makes it easier for criminals to flee. It’s easy to escape from Sanganer police station area towards Tonk, Kota and Sawai Madhopur. Jhotwara is close to Jaipur-Churu highway and Vaishali Nagar to Jaipur-Ajmer-Ahmedabad highway,” said an officer.“The police alone cannot help, hence, each locality now have gates and one guard deputed for the night, to stave off trouble,” said Hari Shankar Khandelwal, a resident of Malviya Nagar.
