KOTA: A petition was filed in lok adalat in Bundi on Saturday, seeking a ban against holding of chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s public meeting, at the government senior higher secondary school grounds in Bundi city, during her four-day Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra. However, they said they would be present at the event as part of protocol. CM Raje, on the concluding day of her four-day Gaurav Yatra in Hadauti region, is scheduled to hold a public meeting at the government senior higher secondary school grounds in Bundi city on Monday.Charmesh Sharma and Devraj Goachar, youth Congress leaders and former students of the school, on Saturday filed the petition at lok adalat in Bundi and referred to state government circular and the Supreme Court’s order prohibiting holding of any function or programme in the school ground on working days, as such functions and programmes cause disturbance in studies to the students. The two former students of the school requested the court to ban the public meeting by CM Raje on the school grounds, in the interest of the students. The two also noted to the court that over 1,100 students are enrolled in the school and their studies are most likely to suffer due to Raje’s public meeting. The court took up the matter and agreed to hold hearing on the same, on Monday.Meanwhile, amid preparations for the CM’s public meeting on Monday, without prior permission, a boundary wall of the school ground was demolished on Sunday, to erect a welcome gate leading into the ground and also two of the trees on the grounds, are being cut down.“The rules of school circulars and environmental conservation are being openly violated for the public meeting by CM Raje at the school ground and the district administration is blind-folded about it,” said Mukesh Kumar, a local. When contacted, the concerned authorities expressed ignorance at the falling of the two trees and the demolishing of the boundary wall, saying government machinery has nothing to do with Raje’s public meeting.
