Alwar: Two days after arresting a man with illegal possession of 50 kg of beef at Pahari police station area in Bharatpur, the Gopalgarh police in Bharatpur district on Thursday have arrested two cow smugglers from two villages with an illegal possession of 130 kg of beef.Acting on a tip off, a team of police raided in the jungle area at Papada and Khandiawas villages under Gopalgarh police station of Bharatpur district.“We have found that two persons were slaughtering cows. The accused were identified as Samaidhin Meo (32) and Sakir Meo (29),” said a senior police officers.According to the sources, initially some locals informed the police about the slaughtering. A large number of people were already moving towards the spot. However, in order to avoid any further clashes police team reached and arrested two persons.“There was a specific input on this. Immediately a team was rushed to the place,” an officer added.Police have also recovered nearly 130 kg of beef from the spot and left overs of the cows.“A case under appropriate sections of Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, 1995 was lodged against him,” said a senior police officer.It may be recalled that on Tuesday Pahari police in Bharatpur had arrested a man for allegedly selling cow beef. Police during then had also recovered 50 kg of beef.
