6 killed 7 injured in road mishap in Sikar

“The deceased were identified as the driver of jeep Jagdish Prasad, Shanti Devi, Santara Devi, Kesari Devi, Surasta Devi, and Rukama Devi. “Four, including three women were killed on the spot while two other women succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Seven others were injured in the accident. However, police teams rushed to the spot and assured them ex-gratia as per government norms. All the injured have been sent to Srimadhopur for further treatment,” said Bhoop Singh, station house officer, Thoi police station of Sikar district.A large number of people gathered on the spot and amidst much hue and cry, locals used their vehicles to take the injured to the hospital.

Jaipur: A tour to a farm for the harvesting of Bajra ended on a tragic note for five labourer women when the jeep in which they were travelling collided head-on with a truck coming from opposite direction near Kanwat under Thoi police station of Sikar. Six including five women were killed and seven others were injured in the accident on Friday morning.All these women and other men in the jeep were going to a farm where they were contractual labourers for the harvest of Bajra.According to police, the incident took place in the morning when a rashly driven truck collided head-on with a pickup jeep coming from the opposite direction. People in the area heard an explosion-like sound and immediately rushed to the spot. “Four, including three women were killed on the spot while two other women succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Seven others were injured in the accident. All the women were from Saini community and were close relatives from Kanwat,” said a police officer.Relatives of the women demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each for the deaths and were not allowing the post-mortem. However, police teams rushed to the spot and assured them ex-gratia as per government norms.
