Jaipur: Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat who was in the state capital to attend the centenary celebrations of Battle of Haifa said that there is a need to change the strategy of the armed forces fighting the enemies from across the border so ‘they feel the same pain’ as India.

He also opined that in the last one year due to the tactics being used by Pakistan, it has been isolated in the international forum.“The mutilation of our jawans by Pakistani army and its funded terrorists organisations including the killing of policemen does prove the there is a need to change our strategy in the way we deal with them. We need to avenge the death of our soldiers, but it doesn’t mean that we will stoop to the same level as them in terms of barbarism. However, the time has come to take stern action against them and give it back to them in the same coin so they also the feel the same pain as we do”, said Rawat.Speaking about the actions taken by the Indian army against the Pakistani forces in the last one year, the Chief added,”it is not that we have not been taking action against Pakistan army and in the last one year they have also suffered many casualties though we have not taken any barbaric course of action against them. The way that Pakistan has been acting has left it isolated internationally and even a country like USA which was its biggest supporter has taken a step back. India has been successful in ensuring this isolation.”With the second anniversary of the surgical strikes on September 29 coming close and recent controversy surrounding its commemoration, Rawat divulged that it was different from the ones which have been done in the past.
