JAIPUR: Chief minister Vasundhara Raje reached out to the families of defence forces during Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra on Wednesday. The towns where Raje held her rallies have a high number of its citizens serving in defence services.She gave a brief detail of several developmental schemes for the families of the armed forces introduced by her government. The police officers will be required to meet them at regular intervals and to resolve the matters related to them,” said Raje. Her address at Bansur, Neem Ka Thana and Kotputli were centred around families of armed forces.She started by seeking an apology from former chief minister Ashok Gehlot for causing insult to the defence personnel by calling a programme ‘Shahadat Ko Salam’ held on August 14 as the waste of money at Bansur.“By calling it a waste of money, Gehlot had insulted the sacrifice being made by the armed forces while safeguarding us. He should tender an apology,” said Raje.She announced that every police station in the state has to make a data base of martyrs’ families living in their jurisdiction. “Every police station will have a list of martyr families. The police officers will be required to meet them at regular intervals and to resolve the matters related to them,” said Raje. "State is coming up with Mahrao Shekhaji School in Sikar. Here candidates will be trained to crack the NDA exam. Already 21 crores have been allocated for the school in Sikar. The school will be headed by retired army officer,” said Raje.“Do you (CM Vasundhara Raje) feel the “gaurav’’ (honour) over construction of non-technical water conservation structures and the corruption in their construction, under the Jal Swavlamban Abhiyaan?’’ asked state PCC president Sachin Pilot on Saturday.It came as an embarrassment for the chief minister Vasudhara Raje after two BJP leaders—Devisingh Shekawat and Rohitshav Sharma of Alwar scuffled with each other at Bansur during the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra public address on Saturday. Both are seeking ticket from Bansur and scuffled with each other over display of strength. Raje had to intervened and resolve the matter.
