In April last year, Pehlu Khan (55), a dairy farmer from Nuh, was thrashed to death by cow vigilantes when he was transporting cattle. A black SUV without a registration number plate overtook our car. Four people were sitting inside the SUV. They waved at us and asked us to stop our car, but we did not. They hurled expletives at us. They fired at us when we didn't pull over,” he said.Irshad, in his complaint to the police, alleged that the attack was carried out with an aim to prevent them from deposing before the court.Following their complaint, senior officials, including additional SP Neemrana Manish Tripathi, went to the spot to take stock of the situation. While the police have not yet been able to ascertain who was behind the incident, district SP Rajendra Singh told TOI that adequate security and protection will be given to the family members and witnesses.The family said they fear for their lives in Behror and demanded that the trial should be shifted to Alwar court.
