Mercury dips in Raj Bikaner coldest at 83 degrees Celsius

Jaipur: Many places in the state are witnessing winters as mercury has started to fall. It was followed by a warmer afternoon as a maximum temperature of 32.1 degree Celsius, almost two degrees above the normal, was recorded.In the morning, people at the Central Park were seen in warm clothes. Mercury will continue to fall in the state in the next 24 hours. Some places in western Rajasthan have witnessed a drastic dip in the mercury. Bikaner remained the coldest in the state, where a minimum temperature of 8.3 degree Celsius was recorded, the met reports said.Churu remained second coldest in the state where a minimum temperature of 11.5 degree Celsius was recorded, the met reports said.Attributing the climatic change to the active northerly winds, Jaipur met office said that mercury will dip further in the state in the coming days.Jaipurites woke up to a chilly morning as a minimum temperature of 15.1 degree Celsius was recorded in the city.

Likewise, at some places in the city, the traffic policemen on morning duty were seen wearing warm clothes.Bikaner was followed by Churu where a minimum temperature of 11.5 degree Celsius was recorded, Udaipur was at 11.8, Pilani at 12.7, Sriganganagar and Kota at 13.4 degree Celsius each, Jodhpur at 14.1, Ajmer at 15.3, Barmer at 16.7 and in Jaisalmer, 17.0 degree Celsius was recorded.In its forecast, Jaipur met office said that cold wave conditions will aggravate, especially in western Rajasthan. Mercury will continue to fall in the state in the next 24 hours.
