Two couples commit suicide in Barmer district

JAISALMER: In the last 18 hours, two couples in love committed suicide in Barmer district in two separate incidents, as their families did not approve of their relationships.Barmer SP Manish Agarwal said two cases of couples committing suicide on Saturday night and Sunday morning, have come to light and the reasons are not known yet, but possibly their families did not approve of their love, due to which they took the extreme step.In the first case, a couple on Saturday night in Balotara city jumped before a moving train. Police after the postmortem, handed over the bodies to their families.Balotara SHO Pushpendra Verma said that the couple, prior to committing suicide, disappeared from their homes on Friday and on Saturday they were seen at two-three places and were seen for the last time on Saturday near the railway tracks.In another incident, Pachpadra SHO Nema Ram said that Jagdish (18) and Suja (18), residents of Keetnod, were in love with each other and went missing from their houses on Saturday.
