State minister Surendra Goyalrsquos name dropped resigns in protest

BJP workers in Sikar held a hawan in protest against giving ticket to sitting BJP MLA Bansidhar Bajiya from Khandela. They also submitted a memorandum to district president of BJP expressing that business class has always supported the saffron party. His resignation was followed by the resignations from many booth party workers of his assembly segment. Manish Chaudhary, general secretary of RLP said that MLA from Nagaur, Habib-Ur-Rehman and from Kishangarh, Bhagirath Chaudhary has expressed interest to contest elections from our party. Supporters of sitting BJP MLA from Kishangarh also held a protest at the BJP office for dropping the name of Bhagirath Chaudhary.The smaller parties, especially Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) has started reaching out to dissidents of BJP.

JAIPUR: State cabinet minister Surendra Goyal submitted his resignation to chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday along with his supporters for dropping his name from the first list of candidates announced late in the evening on Sunday.The five-time MLA also announced to contest as an independent candidate in the Vidhan Sabha polls from his constituency Jaitaran, Pali. His resignation was followed by the resignations from many booth party workers of his assembly segment. BJP dropped him to accommodate a new and young face, Avinash Gehlot to counter anti-incumbency against him.Talking to media he said that BJP has betrayed somebody who had actively worked for Jan Sangh. “I will not buckle under the pressure and will contest. The people of my constituency are my strength and they are shocked to not see my name in the list,” said Goyal. Earlier in the day, his supporters raised slogans at the BJP headquarters but finding no senior leader there they dispersed.BJP announced 131 tickets by giving chance to 25 new faces, this has perturbed existing MLAs and other candidates who raised protest at district BJP offices. They demanded that Bajiya had lost his credibility and will ensure defeat of BJP.Similar, protest meet was held by Vaishya Samaj in Alwar threatening to withdraw its support to BJP for denying ticket to the sitting MLA Banwari Lal Singhal. They also submitted a memorandum to district president of BJP expressing that business class has always supported the saffron party. Sources said that Singhal orchestrated that meeting and the letter to exert pressure on the central leadership. Supporters of sitting BJP MLA from Kishangarh also held a protest at the BJP office for dropping the name of Bhagirath Chaudhary.The smaller parties, especially Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) has started reaching out to dissidents of BJP. Manish Chaudhary, general secretary of RLP said that MLA from Nagaur, Habib-Ur-Rehman and from Kishangarh, Bhagirath Chaudhary has expressed interest to contest elections from our party. “Several others from both parties are in touch with us and will announce their names in public once formalities are over,” said Chaudhary.
