Jaipur: A drug peddler carrying doda post (poppy husk) in a luxury car that had a sticker ‘on election duty’ was caught by Churu police on Saturday while he was going towards Haryana from Mandsaur in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh. Police have seized 50 kg of doda post.According to police, the Hameerwas patrolling team was already checking vehicles on the highway on Saturday.What led them to stop the vehicle having a sticker ‘election duty’ which is usually not checked during elections? Since this was a luxury vehicle, our team found it suspicious and asked the driver to stop,” said Rammurthy Joshi, superintendent of police, Churu.“The accused identified as Rajesh Birjarniajia, a native of Surajgarh in Jhunjhunu, has been arrested. During interrogation, he said that he had brought the narcotics from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh and was going to Haryana,” Joshi added.
