Vasundhara Raje files nomination from Jhalrapatan amid fanfare

JAIPUR: Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Saturday filed her nomination from Jhalrapatan assembly seat of Jhalawar district amid full fanfare.Along with Raje, 673 candidates filed their nominations on Saturday, including 78 from the BJP, 90 from Congress, 49 from BSP, 36 from AAP and 255 independent candidates.Chief minister Vasundhara Raje on way to file nomination in Jhalrapatan on Saturday. Reports suggested that she used Hussain’s pen to sign her nomination form.In her affidavit, Raje declared the moveable and immovable assets worth approximately Rs 5.5 crore. She owns jewellery worth Rs 1.08 crore approximately, including gold worth Rs 1.2 crore and silver Rs 6.25 lakh.Many heavyweights in BJP squad too filed their nomination forms on the second last day. Kamini Jindal of National Unionist Zamindara Party, who is one of the richest candidates in the fray, filed her nomination from Sriganganagar district. Raje was accompanied by her lucky mascot Shahnawaz Hussain, national spokesperson of the BJP, and her son Dushyant Singh.

Kamini Jindal of National Unionist Zamindara Party, who is one of the richest candidates in the fray, filed her nomination from Sriganganagar district. Jindal, married to IPS officer Gagandeep Singla, has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 300 crore approx.Raje went to the district returning officer with thousands of her supporters, after passing through main markets of Jhalrapatan amidst slogans of her party workers. Raje was accompanied by her lucky mascot Shahnawaz Hussain, national spokesperson of the BJP, and her son Dushyant Singh. She filed her nomination at 12.30 pm. Reports suggested that she used Hussain’s pen to sign her nomination form.In her affidavit, Raje declared the moveable and immovable assets worth approximately Rs 5.5 crore. She owns jewellery worth Rs 1.08 crore approximately, including gold worth Rs 1.2 crore and silver Rs 6.25 lakh.Many heavyweights in BJP squad too filed their nomination forms on the second last day. Rural development minister Rajendra Singh Rathore, who recently switched his constituency to Churu, filed his nomination at 2.11 pm.Former BJP president Ashok Parmani and forest minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar filed their nominations from Adarsh Nagar and Lohawat constituency respectively.Parmani in his affidavit has declared movable and immovable assets worth Rs 30.29 crore approximately. Parnmai owns car, including Audi, Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Superb, Honda Accord and Volvo.While, Rajendra Singh Rathore and his wife Chand Kanwar own movable assets of Rs 5.71 crore. In the affidavit, Rathore has declared immovable assets of Rs 16.09 which is owned by his wife.Congress candidates who received tickets in the first list of 152 candidates also filed their nomination on Saturday. Raghu Sharma, Ajmer MP, filed his nomination to contest from Kekri. Similarly, former MP, Khiladi Lal Bairwa filed his nomination from SC reserved constituency, Baseri (SC) in Dausa district In the state filing of nominations for the assembly elections will end on Monday. The filed papers will be scrutinized on November 20. The last date for withdrawing nominations is November 22.
