Here, supporters of Puri and Mohammed from Barmer and Jaisalmer are camping for their candidates. We have shifted along with logistics — SUVs, banners, posters etc, to hold a new fort till the polls. Since his name was announced last minute, his supporters have also shifted their base from the desert region to the dense forest cover of Jhalawar.“Manvendra is the face of his father Jaswant Singh, who is our everything. The area is new to us and we have been asked to connect with the locals at all polling booths,” said Javed Khan, a supporter of Khan in Tonk. He has no regrets about missing out on his voting franchise, as he feels that without Khan, they would have voted for no one.

Jaipur: Hundreds of voters in assembly segments of Barmer, Jaisalmer and Deedwana (Nagaur) are not likely to cast their vote, as they are camping in different assembly segments supporting their candidates.Over 1,000 members of Swabhiman Sena of Barmer, formed by the Congress candidate from Jhalrapatan, Manvendra Singh, have shifted to Jhalrapatan, campaigning for Singh. Since his name was announced last minute, his supporters have also shifted their base from the desert region to the dense forest cover of Jhalawar.“Manvendra is the face of his father Jaswant Singh, who is our everything. We have shifted along with logistics — SUVs, banners, posters etc, to hold a new fort till the polls. We don’t mind if we are not able to cast our vote, which I in any case wouldn't have done without the presence of Singhji,” said Roop Singh, a member of Swabhiman Sena.Similar is the story of the supporters of BJP’s tallest leader Yoonus Khan, a dominant face in Deedwana in Nagaur. He is taking on Congress state chief Sachin Pilot from Tonk, which is an alien seat for both, but Pilot has comfortably made inroads into the constituency due to strong presence of his party workers, while Khan is relying on his old team from Deedwana.“We have clear instructions to not leave Tonk city before the polling day. The area is new to us and we have been asked to connect with the locals at all polling booths,” said Javed Khan, a supporter of Khan in Tonk. He has no regrets about missing out on his voting franchise, as he feels that without Khan, they would have voted for no one. Over 100 cars from Nagaur and Jaipur have been shuttling between Tonk-Jaipur-Nagaur. Every day, core supporters are coming from Deedwana to make inroads into the Muslim, Mali, Meena and Brahmin communities.Similar is the situation in Pokhran, where the BJP candidate from Barmer, Pratap Puri, is giving a tough fight to the Congress candidate Saleh Mohammed, who is the son of a religious leader of Sindhi Muslims, Ghazi Mohammed.
