JAIPUR: The police had seized a total of over Rs 68.31 crore worth of cash, jewellery and liquor after the model code of conduct was put into force. Similarly, 4,203 weapons 1,450 cartridges and 370kg of explosives were also seized, said Rajasthan chief electoral officer Anand Kumar on Thursday.He said the seizure of cash is Rs 15.47 crore, liquor 3,96,161 liters worth Rs 25. 57 crore, drugs and narcotics worth Rs 7.53 crore and 601.13 kg of silver worth Rs 6.88 crore.He added that the value of Rs 12.65 crore is the value of various kinds of vehicles seized during this period. Thus, the total amount of seizures is to the tune of Rs 68.31 crore.Kumar said out of total 1,74,711 of licensed weapons, so far 1,60,279 weapons have been surrendered. He said over 3.94 lakh persons were bound down under prohibitory orders. A total of 2,14,455 non bailable warrants were issued.He said 4,146 vulnerable villages have been identified and 20,265 persons were identified as rumour mongers and 17,922 were bound down. He said efforts are on to bound down the remaining persons. He claimed that strict monitoring of the poll expenses is also being done.
