KOTA: Additional district judge (ADJ) court at Kota on Thursday ordered a 45-year-old man to be hanged till death for murdering a 35-year-old woman, a senior BSNL officer in the city, over three years ago at her residence in R K Puram area. The convict, a native of Manhorethana area in Jhalawar district , had been working as driver of the deceased officer but a few months before the crime he was discharged from duty after full payment and compensation. A case was lodged against the accused in R K Puram police station and investigation was initiated.ADJ court No. The court also imposed a fine of Rs Rs 30,000 on him.The court took a serious note of the brutal nature of the crime and pathetic background of the family of the deceased lady officer who is survived of a four-year-old daughter and a handicapped husband, the public prosecutor said. 4 on Thursday ordered Lalchand (45) to be hanged till death for brutally murdering the woman identified as Swati Gupta (35), a BSNL official in Kota, at her house in R K Puram area in August 2015, said public prosecutor Nityendra Sharma.Judge Rajendra Bansiwal held Lalchand guilty of murder under sections 302 and 460 of IPC and sentenced him to death.

The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 30,000 on the accused.The convict, who had served as car driver of the deceased woman, in August 2015 stabbed her to death with at least 15 fatal knife injuries on her body at her residence when she came out to lock the main gate of her house at night. A case was lodged against the accused in R K Puram police station and investigation was initiated.ADJ court No. 4 on Thursday ordered Lalchand (45) to be hanged till death for brutally murdering the woman identified as Swati Gupta (35), a BSNL official in Kota, at her house in R K Puram area in August 2015, said public prosecutor Nityendra Sharma.Judge Rajendra Bansiwal held Lalchand guilty of murder under sections 302 and 460 of IPC and sentenced him to death. But he harboured enmity and revenge that led him to commit the brutal murder, he said.CCTV footages of the camera installed around the residence of the deceased were used as evidence during the trial of the case, Sharma said, stressing that electronic media played a vital role in the case.
