Day after becoming MLA Lahoty orders action on garbage complaints

As the elections were going on, there were many complaints that garbage collection work had not been done properly and even roads were not getting cleaned. If any satisfactory answer is not received than some action will be taken against the officials. "Ashok Lahoty, the sitting mayor of the Jaipur city has recently won the assembly elections from Sanganer constituency.There have been many speculations that he will be leaving the mayor’s seat very soon. "Cleanliness has always been my priority and I have asked the officials to submit a report by Saturday. However, Lahoty said that the final decision would be taken by the BJP party high command and he was ready to leave the mayor's seat any time as per the party orders.

JAIPUR: On the first day after becoming MLA, Ashok Lahoty took some decisions to tighten the civic responsibilities around the city.Still being the sitting mayor of the pink city, Lahoty called a meeting with the officials of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) and enquired them about the complaints received about the piles of garbage in the city. As the elections were going on, there were many complaints that garbage collection work had not been done properly and even roads were not getting cleaned."Cleanliness has always been my priority and I have asked the officials to submit a report by Saturday. If any satisfactory answer is not received than some action will be taken against the officials. I scolded many of the officials about the ongoing garbage problem in the city and no action has been taken by them even after lots of media coverage", said Lahoty.In another decision, Lahoty has ordered to all the power companies to keep the street lights open till 7 am in the morning. He said that "Jaipur is a religious city and people visit temples early in the morning. However, power companies to save the electricity, switch off the lights by 6 am. Hence, I have ordered to keep the lights on by 7 pm to provide facility to the temple visitors."Ashok Lahoty, the sitting mayor of the Jaipur city has recently won the assembly elections from Sanganer constituency.There have been many speculations that he will be leaving the mayor’s seat very soon.
