Minor flareups over CM name across state

Jaipur/Alwar: In a bid to maintain law and order, heavy police force was deployed in Gujjar-dominated areas as a precautionary measure. A few incidents of protest by the supporters were witnessed on Friday at many places in the state, however, the situation by and large remained peaceful.Much before the Congress declared Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot as CM and deputy CM respectively, a group of youths climbed atop a water tank in Sikar demanding that the Congress announces Pilot as the CM. Similar incidents were seen in Karauli and Bharatpur.“IGs and SPs of the areas covering eastern Rajasthan were asked to be vigilant. They were in touch with the local leaders to ensure no clashes take place,” NRK Reddy, additional director general (law and order) told TOI. In the evening, angry over Pilot being denied CM’s post, members of Gujjar community jammed Natani Ka Bara Road, situated on Jaipur-Thanagaji route.
