Boy studying in Kota among top 15 scorers in JEE Main

He prepared from Allen Career Institute in Kota.Sharing his success mantra, Behera says that he has always picked up topics randomly. “The best part of the result is that I don’t have to appear in the JEE Main-II for improvement. Settling in Kota was not easy in the beginning, but the presence of students from various regions of the country, helped him adjust sooner.His biggest strength in Kota is his mother.

Jaipur: Living in Kota since the past two and a half years, Sambit Behera, a native of Bhubaneswar has made way into the league of 15 students who secured 100 percentile in JEE Mains-January result, announced on Saturday. He secured a score of 100 percent each in Physics and Mathematics, and 99.98 percent in Chemistry.Son of a Chandramani Behera, an employee of State Bank of India in Bhubaneswar, Sambit came to Kota after passing class IX, with a dream of pursuing engineering from IIT-Bombay. “I am an inch closer to achieving my dream,” said an elated Behera over the phone from Kota. While his family, relatives, friends and coaching people are busy celebrating his success, he chooses to focus on his XII board exam. “My next aim is to repeat the success in class XII and JEE Advanced,” said Behera. “The best part of the result is that I don’t have to appear in the JEE Main-II for improvement. It has given me an upper edge and extra time to appear in the next two exams,” he added. Settling in Kota was not easy in the beginning, but the presence of students from various regions of the country, helped him adjust sooner.His biggest strength in Kota is his mother. “My mother, who is an ophthalmologist, has left her career in the midst, for my career. She is living with me in Kota and provides the strength required to contest in the toughest exam, in a highly competitive environment,” said Behera. He prepared from Allen Career Institute in Kota.Sharing his success mantra, Behera says that he has always picked up topics randomly. “I have always followed the schedule made in the beginning of the preparation. I have always maintained to clear doubts in the class itself and not taking it home,” said Behera. He had secured 10 CGPA in 10th Standard and is an NTSE scholar. He has qualified the first stage of Chemistry Olympiad and is now preparing for the second stage. His elder sister, Barnali Priyadarshini, is pursuing engineering from NIT Rourkela.
