Intrsquol conference on dryland devpt begins in Jodhpur

Conference is being organized under the joint aegis of the International Dryland Development Commissioner and Arid Zone Research Association of India. Jodhpur: With concerns over shrinking wetlands in the country, deliberations began on Monday to explore avenues for conversion of dryland areas from grey to green at the 13th International Conference on Dryland Development. Experts from across the globe are participating in this four-day conference which will go on till Thursday. Inaugurating the conference, MoS, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said land degradation & climate change have emerged as major threats to sustainable agricultural production in drylands.
