JAIPUR: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra and her mother-in-law Maureen Vadra reached Jaipur on Monday where the duo is required to depose before the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) regional office in connection with an alleged land scam in Bikaner district.Vadra and his mother were escorted from Jaipur airport to a star hotel in the city.
The agency also suspected that money was laundered as people bought land for cheap using forged documents.
They will appear before the probe agency on Tuesday morning.Sources in ED told TOI investigators have prepared 55 questions for Vadra and his mother. On January 21, the Rajasthan High Court’s principal seat at Jodhpur had asked mother-son to appear for the ED investigation.
“This action is in compliance with Rajasthan HC order passed on January 21.
The investigation agency, however, had not named Robert Vadra in its FIR under the PMLA.The Rajasthan government in 2015 had issued orders related to cancellation of mutations (transfer of land ownership) of 374.44 hectares of land after it was found that the allotments had been made in the names of illegal private persons.
