Cricket pitch for students damaged in Seva Dal meet

Jaipur: Dargah committee of Ajmer on Friday raised an objection to the Seva Dal meet which was addressed by Congress president Rahul Gandhi on February 14 for damaging the newly constructed cricket pitch at Kayad Vishram Sthali. The party had dug up holes in the pitch for erecting a tent, leaving the pitch unfit for any use. The pitch was sponsored by the donors for the students of a school run by the committee. The committee of the Seva Dal misbehaved with the committee guards at the venue when the latter protested the move of digging the pitch.Dargah Nazim Shakil Ahmed said, “This is unfortunate that despite repeated alerts, the pitch was damaged by organizers.

The meeting was attended by CM Ashok Gehlot and deputy CM Sachin Pilot.The venue was given for free by the committee. The committee of the Seva Dal misbehaved with the committee guards at the venue when the latter protested the move of digging the pitch.Dargah Nazim Shakil Ahmed said, “This is unfortunate that despite repeated alerts, the pitch was damaged by organizers. I will write to Congress for what they have done. I am sure that they get the repair done.”Committee guard Badru said, “The organizers were requested not to damage the pitch followed by abuses and threats by them. The matter was directed to the Khan who was teary eyed to see the damage on the ground. They also ignored our repeated request of not to defecate in open in an area which is used for offering Namaz. You can see how they filled the entire area with filth."They forcibly vacated one room full of Chaddars from the Dargah to convert it into a medical room. Badru said that during the PM Narendra Modi's public address they were just informed that this is a religious site and they placed the mobile latrines out of the area for Nawaz. Ameen Pathan, president of committee was called for his response but he chose not to respond.State president of Seva Dal and Masuda MLA Rakesh Parikh told TOI, “I am not aware of damage caused to the pitch but if it has happened we will ensure the repair of the pitch.”
