Tribal women stir to shut liquor shop in Sirohi district

It has become a nuisance for women, as people under the influence of liquor, tease women. We have decided to fight till the end against the shop,” said Devi. She said that at whatever cost, they will get the liquor shop closed.According to the state government rules, there is a requirement of 12% votes of total voters in the area for conducting voting for shutting down a liquor shop, said Sunita Sharma, a social activist from the area. More than 12% of voters have submitted their applications to district administration requesting to conduct vote. In case, more than 50% votes go against the liquor shop, the state government will shut the shop in the area, she said.
