This is also the first time when the actress will be seen in an out and out negative role. Sangeeta tells us, “Pishachini is a very dark entity and this is the first time that I am playing a completely dark character. I did play characters with grey shades earlier but this is an out and out negative role.” She adds, “Initially, I was not sure whether I will be able to pull off this role or not. I was sceptical and nervous but this nervous energy, in fact, worked well for me. I stopped bothering about how I am going to look on screen or how my fans are going to take it. I just stopped thinking about it and accepted the role as a challenge that will make me a better actor.” Sangeeta Ghosh in Jaipur , dressed up as her soap character, PishachiniPromoting the show, heavily decked up in traditional jewellery from head to toe, with heavy eye makeup, Sangeeta, seems to be well into the character. The actress says that being glam and stylish have become intrinsic to such roles. “I love watching a wicked vamp or a crooked witch turning into glamorous divas. And why not? It adds more flavour and colour to the show. Our audience, too, especially our female fans, like to see the jewellery and sari we wear and the way we do our hair. These add drama on screen and I love these things. In this show, I won’t be wearing only one attire but will be seen experimenting with my look. I will be seen flaunting beautiful saris, evening gowns and western outfits. So, yes I am a fashion conscious pishachini!”Sangeeta, married to Jaipur-based polo player and entrepreneur Sahilendra Singh, keeps juggling between Mumbai and the Pink City and knows how to maintain a healthy and happy long-distance marriage. “We are both mature individuals and know how to respect each other and create a happy space for both of us. The best part is that Jaipur and its people have welcomed me as a family member. It’s like I am bhabhisa for the entire city. All his polo friends, or friends from his Rajput circuit call me bhabhi sa, and I feel a sense of instant connect. It makes me feel at home.”Picture credit: Pankaj Sharma
