Jaipur: In order to make available branded goods in the rural areas, the cooperative department plans to set up super stores in about 10% village cooperative societies in each district. This would help the societies to improve their financial condition and also quality goods and services will be available even in rural areas.Cooperative minister Udailal Anjana announced this at a review meeting held on Monday. Emphasizing the need for strengthening the cooperative sector, he said the need of the hour is decentralization which would in turn help to generate employment opportunities at the village level.The minister said the village cooperatives should adopt the model of custom hiring centre so that the farmers could their agriculture inputs at a lesser price compared to market price and help to improve the profit of the societies.He also suggested that the village cooperative societies should enter the field of selling agriculture produce. The minister said despite the good quality of cattle feed produced by Rajfed, due to poor marketing strategies it could not penetrate the market. He said the cooperative sector should inculcate the culture of competition and adopt modern tools of marketing.
