Jaipur: Jaipur’s Chandwaji police are yet to question four second-year students of National Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) booked under sedition charges for sharing anti-national post related to the Pulwama attack. The FIR was filed on February 17 against four students of Kashmir origin- Talveen Manzoor, Iqra, Zohra Nazir and Uzma Nazir- for sharing a celebratory picture on their WhatsApp status on February 16.“The matter is being investigated and we have recorded the statements of 6-7 students of the university. The girls were not called for questioning as the investigating officer is recording the statements of the witnesses and collecting evidence against them,” said Jagdish Singh Rao, CO, Jamwaramgarh police station.Both the police and the university administration have expressed ignorance about the whereabouts of the girls. Sushila Chettri, deputy registrar of NIMS told TOI, “I have no idea about the girls.” A day earlier she had told TOI that they had left the campus on February 16 evening. Sources told TOI that the girls were shifted to an undisclosed location of the university for their safety.“Police is waiting for the parents or the local guardians of these girls to arrive at the university. Thereafter, the girls would be called for questioning or cross examining. The matter is very sensitive and the girls must be under stress and fear. This is being done so that the accused can present their case fairly,” said a source who is a part of the investigation.
