JMC orders inspection of all Jaipur wards

JAIPUR: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation JMC ) on Tuesday ordered all zonal commissioners in the city to inspect wards in their areas and take attendance of the sanitation workers. “These workers were working properly in the beginning but now they have started to ignore their responsibilities. We have complained to the area councillor many times but no action has been taken and garbage depots are also rising in the city. There are workers who were on leave or maybe did not report due to some problem. This inspection is necessary to keep these workers in action,” said Kamal, a resident of Gangori market.The zonal commissioner of Amber Karan Singh said, “When we went to inspect one of the wards, 12 people were absent.

JAIPUR: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation JMC ) on Tuesday ordered all zonal commissioners in the city to inspect wards in their areas and take attendance of the sanitation workers. Inspection done in 14 wards of the city in which out of 1,234 sanitation workers 149 were absent and 1,085 were found present.The orders were issued by the JMC on Wednesday that from now onwards, every day attendance will be taken by the zonal commissioner of every ward in his area to keep a check on the sanitation workers. The nodal officers of the Swachhta in the city, Vinod Purohit said that the decision is taken to discipline the workers in the city and keep the swachhta active.There have been many complaints given by Jaipur citizens that sanitation workers are cleaning main roads but not entering the lanes, especially of walled city. “These workers were working properly in the beginning but now they have started to ignore their responsibilities. We have complained to the area councillor many times but no action has been taken and garbage depots are also rising in the city. This inspection is necessary to keep these workers in action,” said Kamal, a resident of Gangori market.The zonal commissioner of Amber Karan Singh said, “When we went to inspect one of the wards, 12 people were absent. However, a show cause notice has been issued to all of them. There are workers who were on leave or maybe did not report due to some problem. It will all be clear once they submit the reasons.”
